The Azar Foundation for Children of the World was founded in 2003 as a private
family foundation and 501(c)(3) organization aimed to support women and
children in need. It was established with the belief that women and children are the
backbone of society and flourish when provided with resources and opportunity.
For the first ten years of operation, funds were provided to individuals lacking healthcare, education and housing. The foundation is now seeking to expand to serve the larger community of women and children living in the US and around the globe.
This strategic plan was created to redefine the foundation’s mission to make a
longer and more sustainable impact. In the 2014-2015 year, the foundation aims to
develop funding protocol, partner with local organizations and increase staff and
board members. The main challenges for the coming year are developing a larger
philanthropic network and establishing a foundation grant.
